Iowa Specialty Hospital’s 400th baby of 2022, Keenan James Solano, was born on August 27th at 9:45 in the evening to parents Alora Autumn Schneck and Juan Jose Solano, Jr.  Baby Keenan weighed 7 pounds 8.2 ounces, was 19 ¾ inches in length, and had brown hair and brown eyes.

“The destination was well worth the journey. We are so proud of our miracle!” shared Keenan’s parents.

Iowa Specialty Hospital’s Maternity Center is located at its Clarion Campus. “Our staff here is made to do this work,” stated Jenn Mewes, OB leader. “We have a secret in our OB culture, and it is not that birth is painful. It is that women are strong.  It is a kind of privilege to stand so close to such an incredible miracle. We are blessed to have been allowed in the birth of this 400th baby!”

In 2021, Iowa Specialty Hospital delivered 568 babies, which is the most babies ever delivered at the facility.  They are currently well on their way to surpassing that total.
