300th Baby of 2015 Delivered

Arnold family with new baby.Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion is very pleased to announce the birth of its 300th Baby of 2015, Sybil Anne Arnold. Sybil was born on December 15th at 3:12pm. She weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. The proud parents are Melissa Yetter and Robert Arnold from Belmond, owners of the SUGAR PIE BAKERY. Sybil joins a very proud three-year old sister, Novella.
 
Dr. Amanda Tew was the delivering provider. “Delivering a baby is an amazing experience and delivering the first ever 300th baby in one year makes it even more special!” said Tew.
 
Dr. Dan Gabrielson from Gabrielson Clinic for Women, also commented, “Five years ago, I predicted 300 deliveries would happen. It is unheard of this happening in a town and hospital of this size. This is truly amazing!”
 
“It’s been amazing to see the growth of the OB department since I arrived in 2012,” said Dr. Emily Hill from The Gabrielson Clinic for Women. “Going from a total of 211 babies in 2011 to now over 300 this year…  I am happy to be a part of the obstetrical team at Iowa Specialty Hospital.”
 
In 2014, 264 newborns were delivered at Iowa Specialty Hospital. Casey Howell, OB leader and Certified Lactation Counselor is very excited to hit this new milestone. “We love being there for the miracle of life!” said Howell. “It is amazing to see the transformation from when I started here 10 years ago, delivering less than a hundred babies, to this year delivering over 300. We have an amazing team!”
