Dr. Gautam Kakade has been with Orthopedic Specialists since 2009. He received his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He underwent an orthopedic and trauma residency program at Wenlock District Hospital, Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore. Dr. Kakade then traveled to the United Kingdom where he obtained his masters of orthopedic surgery from Dundee University. He then underwent three additional residencies: one in orthopedic surgery at the National Health Service in the United Kingdom: another in general surgery at Easton Hospital in Easton, Pennsylvania; and the last in internal medicine at Easton Hospital. After completing his residency programs, Dr. Kakade underwent a joint replacement and arthroplasty fellowship at the Center for Hip & Knee Surgery, St. Francis Hospital in Mooresville, Indiana. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in Scotland.
Dr. Kakade’s clinical interests include joint replacement surgery of the hip, knee, and shoulder; trauma and fracture surgery of the hip, wrist, shoulder, and extremities; sports medicine injuries in the shoulders, knees, ankles, and ligaments; carpal tunnel surgery; and workers’ compensation injuries.
When he’s not seeing patients at Orthopedic Specialists, Dr. Kakade enjoys playing table tennis and bridge.
